Pride Gets In The Way

I never realise just how proud I was or how pride can get in the way of growth.

Recently, I have been going through a tough time and have had so many unanswered questions. But I was too proud to go talk to someone.

I finally, when reaching breaking point, went to speak to one of the pastors from my church. I can’t begin to tell you how free I feel, so many of my questions have finally been answered. Why didn’t I just ask them when I first had them? Why do we wait so long before we seek help?

It would have saved me so much time that was wasted on doubts and restless nights.

It takes a strong person to humble themselves and ask for help. Put down your pride and pick up a humble spirit.

Being humble is an ongoing fight for me, every day I ask God to break my pride and create humility in me. God is faithful, He never lets my pride pull me away from Him.

RUN to WIN!

RUN.

How are you getting through life? Trudging on, dragging your feet?

Or head up, and RUNNING toward God and His will?

RUN! Put all your time and energy in to becoming closer with Christ!

RUN to WIN!

Don’t you realise that in a RACE everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So RUN to WIN!

1 Corinthians 9:24

I press on to reach the end of the RACE and receive the heavenly PRIZE for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Philippians 3:14

One Wish

genie1

If God gave you one wish, what would you wish for?

·         Solomon – Wisdom (1 Kings 3:9)

·         The disciples – Place of honour in heaven (Mark 10:37)

·         Bartimaeus (blind beggar) – To see (Mark 10:51)

·         Samson – To get his strength back (Judges 16:28)

·         Gideon – Proof (Judges 6:36)

·         Jesus – For God to forgive the soldiers that crucified Him (Luke 23:34)

Each request revels what was in their hearts, what they truly wanted.

What do you want more that anything?

De-stress That Life!

Philippians 4:6-7

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Don’t worry” – this is one of the hardest thing anyone could ask of me. I am a huge worry wart. Even the smallest of things can trigger off my anxiety.

Pray” – Seems so simple doesn’t it? Then why is it our last resort? After we have made things worse by trying to fix them ourselves.

Prayer opens our hearts. None of us want anyone to see what is really in our hearts, so we lock them up, we don’t allow God inside. By doing this we are locking the fear, pain and worry inside. Open your hearts to God’s love, let Him in!

Thank God” – Thanking God helps us to see all that He has given us. We must remember all the times in our lives that He has been there for us.

Ask” – When we ask for something, we are saying that we need help, that we can’t do it on our own. I find it rather hard to admit that I am not superhuman. When we ask God to help us, we start to depend on Him and we learn so much about His strength and His faithfulness.

Peace” – We are all human so we all have worries and stress. Take them to God and talk them through with Him. Give them to Him and trust Him. It will feel like the world has been lifted from your shoulders. Yes, the problems will still be there, but you are not alone. God is on your side.

This is what I will be working on, to become less stressful, to trust God more, and to seek Him first!

Hopefully my life will be stress-free by 2019! 😀

Year’s End

2017_in_review.0

It’s the end of 2017!!! Congratulations for making it this far!

This year has been a real journey for me. Filled with many ups and downs.

Highlights:

  • I was baptised
  • I turned 21
  • I got a lemon tree
  • I cut my hair off
  • I have become more confident
  • I have learnt so many life lessons
  • I met awesome people!

One of the biggest changes that happened this year was my heart and my attitude toward God and His Word. I discovered that if you soften and open your heart up to Him you learn so much about yourself and about Him. It has become such a joy to read His word and to just spend time talking to Him. He has just become so much more real to me.

I am so excited to see what awesome adventures He has planned for me!

I hope all of you have a terrific new year! May God fill your year with love and laughter!

Be open to His love and you will discover amazing new life-changing things!

Giving Your Time To God

I was reading Joshua 24:14,15 this morning, and it got me thinking about how I was living and how much of my life was being lived for God.

We have a choice to follow Christ, if we choose to, then it has to be whole-heartedly!

It is a fulltime commitment.

For me it is easy to give God my money, to tithe, but when it comes to giving my time…that’s a whole new story.

I am always moaning when I have to give up my precious time for someone else. God wants my all, this includes my time, which isn’t even mine to begin with.

God doesn’t only want the quick 10 minutes that I give Him in the morning, for my quiet time. No. He wants the whole day, every day. Whether we are at work, at university or at home, our time belongs to God.

How much time do you give to God? Is it only during your quiet time? Or is it in every moment of your day?

My Weakness Shows God’s Power

We all know we have flaws and weaknesses (no matter how much we would rather deny them). But instead of feeling shame and trying to hide them, why not put them out in the light for the world to see?

Hehe yeah, I know that sounds crazy, but if you do this, you will allow God’s strength and power to be displayed through you.

Through our faults, we learn to rely more and more on God, because we realise that we can’t do life in our own strength. We survive, no…We flourish in life through Christ.

People will see this…they will see how we turn to God, how we trust Him. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, especially from God.

“We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” Corinthians 4:7

“Each time he said, My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”  Corinthians 12:9-10
