Just Bring Yourself

It still amazes me how I can read the same passage in the Bible and every time find something new that I hadn’t seen before.

This morning I was reading the story of when Jesus fed the five thousand (John 6 vs 1-15). I was wowed by how Jesus took the five loaves and two fish and fed thousands of people.

It struck me that when Jesus asks us to do something He wants us to come with what little we have, He wants us to just have faith. If He can feed five thousand from a boy’s lunch how much more can He multiple our talents and gifts to do the job He wants us to do. Just have faith and take that step into God’s will…That is all He asks of us.

I find that I am often hesitant to do want God wants of me because I don’t think I am ready and I end up make up all sorts of excuses like: “There is someone who could do this better than me”, “God can’t really want me to do that”, “but I am no good at that”, “I am way too shy to do that”.

But I realised that God doesn’t need me to be perfect or good at something to be able to use me (I will never will be perfect). God wants me to come just as I am, with whatever I have…I need to believe that He can, and will use me for His own purpose.

Matthew 28:20

“I am with you always”

The last words of Jesus in Matthew: “Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

How amazing is this? He promises to be with us, right till the end! I find this so reassuring and just so awesome. God is with me always!

It Has Been a Long Week…

Isaiah 40:31

Hey guys. Wow it feels like forever since I have had some time to just sit down for a bit and type out my thoughts.

Yes, This week has been long. I know that we are barely half way through it, but I feel so worn out that it feels as if the weekend should start tomorrow.

How is your week going so far? Started off really well? Loads of exciting things planned? Or are you also feeling burn out like me?

Here is one of my favourite verses to encourage you:

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”  Isiah 40:31

I keep reminding myself of this verse over and over again. I need to give all my fears and worries over to God, then I just need to trust Him. Our strength comes from Him and Him alone!

Know My Heart

“Search me, O God, and know my heart;

test me and know my anxious thoughts.

Point out anything in me that offends you,

and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”

Psalms 139vs23-24

This is a prayer. If you pray it then you must be ready to change. Be ready to follow the path that God wants you to follow. Be bold and obey. No point in asking God to lead you if you aren’t willing to follow.

Never Giving Up

Perseverance: the power to continue despite adverse conditions.

Life is tough. It’s even harder to be a good Christian in this world. But we need to persevere in our faith.

Remember:

  1. You are not alone. God is always with you. He will give you strength to keep going, just ask for it.
  2. There are so many people going through the same stuff as you.So pray for one another.
  3. Trials and struggles strengthen our faith and our relationship with Christ.
  4. Tough times teach us to rely on God more

Never give up, press on.
