Saved Today or Tomorrow

Someone asked me why is it that if a person, who has lived a life of ungodliness, becomes a Christian on his death bed, would get the same ending of that as a person who became a Christian from a young age and lived a life for Christ.

I honestly had no answer. It doesn’t seem fair, does it?

The very next day I read Matthew 20:1-15. In this passage, Jesus tells a story about a landowner (God) who hired people (us) throughout the day, at different times. (Different stages of our lives when we come to Christ) At the end of the day (When we die) the landowner paid each person a full day’s wage (Forgiveness and grace to enter the kingdom of God).  The people that had worked the whole day (whole life) they complained to the landowner and said it wasn’t fair to receive the same amount as those that had only worked for a few hours. (This is how my friend felt)

None of us deserve to be forgiven. None of us deserve God’s grace. But God promises to forgive those that truly ask for it. He doesn’t have a cut-off date, i.e.: only those under the age of twenty can be saved or that you must have lead a sort of good life. No. God gives grace to any age and he forgives all sins, no matter how many there might be.

All we have to do is just ask Him.

By the way, what do we know about fairness? God’s fairness isn’t the same as ours. why are we to be upset when God saves a person? We should celebrate that another soul is safe, no matter how long it took to get saved.

It Has Been a Long Week…

Isaiah 40:31

Hey guys. Wow it feels like forever since I have had some time to just sit down for a bit and type out my thoughts.

Yes, This week has been long. I know that we are barely half way through it, but I feel so worn out that it feels as if the weekend should start tomorrow.

How is your week going so far? Started off really well? Loads of exciting things planned? Or are you also feeling burn out like me?

Here is one of my favourite verses to encourage you:

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”  Isiah 40:31

I keep reminding myself of this verse over and over again. I need to give all my fears and worries over to God, then I just need to trust Him. Our strength comes from Him and Him alone!

MY Prayers?

Aren’t these our typical prayers:”Lord I need…, Please give me…, Help me….?”

But what does God want? How will we ever know if we never ask Him?

Our prayers are often selfish. Even when are praying for others, we sill are thinking about ourselves. “Let quickly get through my prayer list so that I can pray for myself”.

Instead we should be asking God: “What do you want from me? What do you need me to do? How can I live to glorify you?”

Our prayers are not about our wants and needs. Our prayers should be about getting to know the will of God and His plans for our lives.

Know My Heart

“Search me, O God, and know my heart;

test me and know my anxious thoughts.

Point out anything in me that offends you,

and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”

Psalms 139vs23-24

This is a prayer. If you pray it then you must be ready to change. Be ready to follow the path that God wants you to follow. Be bold and obey. No point in asking God to lead you if you aren’t willing to follow.

Don’t Worry

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6vs34

Each day has its own struggles and problems. Take one day at a time. Why worry about tomorrow when you have no control over it? And worrying will just add to today’s stress. Trust the one has control over tomorrow, Trust God.

Never Giving Up

Perseverance: the power to continue despite adverse conditions.

Life is tough. It’s even harder to be a good Christian in this world. But we need to persevere in our faith.

  1. You are not alone. God is always with you. He will give you strength to keep going, just ask for it.
  2. There are so many people going through the same stuff as you.So pray for one another.
  3. Trials and struggles strengthen our faith and our relationship with Christ.
  4. Tough times teach us to rely on God more

Never give up, press on.
